Mockup: https://claude.ai/artifact/XC9KeADJfRrjD428fZFMdj — "Proposal A" pin 3 (tab counts), "Proposal B" pin 2 (count pill on the container row), "Decisions" B and D. Follow-up to #347 (agreed 2026-10-24: tabs ship without counts).
A tree-hidden module with several containers shows one tab per container; a tree-kept module shows its containers in the tree. Both would show the number of entries each container holds ("News 12 · Press releases 4"). The tree payload does not carry counts today. Proposed: the server adds a per-node count of managed children (
entryCount, set only oncontainerFornodes), computed wherecontainerFor/managedByare annotated (pagetree.Annotate), so the count and the container verdict have one owner.Documents:
docs/api.mdGET /api/tree;docs/architecture.mdif the annotation is described. Styleguide: a count pill on a chrome row (--white-a08would need a semantic token) — add to components.css with a sample, or draw the count as plain muted words.
